How we compare
A useful price comparison starts with a defensible product match. Here is what goes into each listing.
1. Match the product
We validate barcode check digits, normalize GTINs and join offers within the same market and currency. We exclude detected brand, category and specification conflicts. Duplicate offers from the same retailer group count once; PcNova, PCHUB and GamingKit are treated as a single group.
2. Check the offer
We require a positive price, an HTTPS affiliate destination, a dated source and an explicit in-stock feed value. We exclude offers older than seven days and product comparisons with fewer than two remaining retailer groups. Large price discrepancies are held back for review. Refurbished, used and open-box products need separate condition matching and are excluded from this release.
3. Separate facts from inference
Product-title details remain labelled retailer-reported. ENERGY STAR information appears only after an exact UPC match or an exact monitor model and brand match in every retailer title. We retain the archive date and original source link. Family-level computer names are not treated as proof of a particular configuration.
4. Show the arithmetic
The price gap is the highest listed item price minus the lowest. It is not a claimed discount from a historic selling price. Delivery, warranties, optional extras and checkout promotions may change the total. Currency conversion is not used to mix markets.
5. Keep commercial influence visible
Retailer buttons are affiliate links. Commissions do not determine ranking. A retailer’s feed remains a statement from that retailer, not an independent review.
Tell us about an incorrect match. Include the product URL, the affected retailer and what appears wrong.
